As for me, through Your abundant kindness I will enter Your house; I will prostrate myself toward Your Holy Sanctuary in awe of You. O ADONAI, I love the House where You dwell, and the place where Your glory resides. I shall prostrate myself and bow, I shall kneel before ADONAI my Maker. As for me, may my prayer to You, ADONAI, be at an opportune time; O God, in Your abundant kindness, answer me with the truth of Your Salvation.

Blessed are You, ADONAI, Who teaches Torah to His people Israel.

May Adonai bless you and safeguard you. May Adonai illuminate His countenance for you and be gracious to you. May Adonai turn His countenance to you and establish peace for you.
Mishnah, Peah 1:1
Eilu d’varim she’ein lahem shiur. Hapeiah v’habikurim v’hara’ayon ug’milut chasadim v’talmud Torah. |
These are the precepts that have no prescribed measure: the corner of the field [which must be left for the poor], the firstfruit offering, the pilgrimage, acts of kindness, and Torah study.
Talmud, Shabbat 127a
Eilu d’varim she’adam okeil peroteihem ba’olam hazeh v’hakeren lo laolam habah, v’eilu hen. Kibud av vaeim, ug’milut chasadim, v’hash’kamat beit hamidrash shacharit v’arvit, v’hak’nasat orchim, uvikur cholim, v’hak’nasat kalah, ulvayat hamet, v’iyun t’filah, va’havaat shalom bein adam la’chaveiro, v’talmud Torah k’neged kulam. |
These are the precepts whose fruits a person enjoys in this world, but whose principle remains in the World to Come, They are: the honor due to father and mother, acts of kindness, early attendance at the house of study morning and evening, hospitality to guests, visiting the sick, providing for a bride, escorting the dead, absorption in prayer, bringing peace between man and his fellow – and the study of Torah is equivalent to them all.
Mattai 5:18-19
For, amen, I say to you, until Heaven and Earth pass away, not one yod or one thorn will pass away from the Torah until all has been established. Therefore the man who nullifies one of these minor mitzvot and teaches men to do like him will be called small in the Kingdom of Heaven, but whoever does and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.

My God, the soul You placed within me is pure. You created it, You fashioned it, You breathed it into me, You safeguard it within me, and eventually You will take it from me, and restore it to me in the Time to Come. As long as the soul is within me, I gratefully thank You, ADONAI, my God and the God of my ancestors, Master of all works, Lord of all souls. Blessed are You, ADONAI, Who restores souls to the dead.

Akeidat Yitzchak
Binding of Isaac
And it happened after these things that God tested Abraham and said to him, ‘Abraham.’
And he replied, ‘Here I am.’
And He said, ‘Please take your son, your only one, whom you love — Isaac — and get yourself to the Land of Moriah; bring him up there as an offering, upon one of the mountains which I shall indicate to you.’
So Abraham awoke early in the morning and he saddled his donkey; he took his two young men with him, and Isaac, his son. He split the wood for the offering, and rose and went toward the place which God had indicated to him.
On the third day, Abraham looked up, and perceived the place from afar. And Abraham said to his young men, ‘Stay here by yourselves with the donkey, while I and the lad will go yonder; we will prostrate ourselves and we will return to you.’
And Abraham took the wood for the offering, and placed it on Isaac, his son. He took in his hand the fire and the knife, and the two of them went together. Then Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, ‘Father – ‘
And he said ‘Here I am, my son.’
And he said, ‘Here are the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the offering?’
And Abraham said, ‘God will seek out for Himself the lamb for the offering, my son.’ And the two of them went together.
They arrived at the place which God indicated to him.
Abraham built the altar there, and arranged the wood; he bound Isaac, his son, and he placed him on the altar atop the wood. Abraham stretched out his hand, and took the knife to slaughter his son.
And an angel of ADONAI, called to him from heaven, and said, ‘Abraham! Abraham!’
And he said, ‘Here I am.’
And he said, ‘Do not stretch out your hand against the lad nor do anything to him, for now I know that you are a God-fearing man, since you have not withheld your son, your only one, from Me.’
And Abraham looked up and saw — behold a ram! — after it had been caught in the thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram and brought it as an offering instead of his son. And Abraham named that site ‘ADONAI Yireh,’ as it is said this day: On the mountain ADONAI is seen.
The angel of ADONAI called to Abraham, a second time from heaven and said, “‘By Myself I swear,’ declared ADONAI, that since you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only one, I shall surely bless you and greatly increase your offspring like the stars of the heavens and like the sand on the seashore; and your offspring shall inherit the gate of its enemy; and all the nations of the earth shall bless themselves by your offspring, because you have listened to My voice.’”
Abraham returned to his young men, and they rose and went together to Beer Sheba, and Abraham stayed at Beer Sheba.
Akeida Meditation
Always let a person be God-fearing privately and publicly acknowledge the truth, speak the truth within his heart, and arise early and proclaim:
Master of all worlds! Not in the merit of our righteousness do we cast our supplications before You, but in the merit of Your abundant mercy. What are we? What is our life? What is our kindness? What is our righteousness? What is our salvation? What is our strength? What is our might? What can we say before You, ADONAI, our God, and the God of our ancestors — are not all the heroes like nothing before You, the famous as if they had never existed, the wise as if devoid of wisdom and the perceptive as if devoid of intelligence? For most of their deeds are desolate and the days of their lives are empty before You. The preeminence of man over beast is non-existent for all is vain.
But we are Your people, members of Your covenant, children of Abraham, Your beloved, to whom You took an oath at Mount Moriah; the offspring of Isaac, his only son, who was bound atop the altar; the community of Jacob , Your firstborn son, whom — because of the love with which You adored him and the joy with which You delighted in him — You named Israel and Jeshurun.
Therefore, we are obliged to thank You, praise You, glorify You, bless, sanctify, and offer praise and thanks to Your Name. We are fortunate — how good is our portion, how pleasant our lot, and how beautiful our heritage!
Chazzan — We are fortunate for we come early and stay late, evening and morning…
P'sukei D'zimrah - Verses of Praise
The root of the word “zimrah” is “zamor” which means to cut or prune (see Vayikrah 25:4). When we recite “Pesukei D’Zimrah” we are “pruning” the the elements of our being which can obstruct the prayers’ ascent to the Heavens, by expressing our deep feelings of coming closer to Hashem.
Meditation: Receiving Blessings
Ancient One,
Open my heart to receive
The blessings around me,
Kindness and wisdom,
Friendship and understanding,
Tenderness and compassion,
Moments of holiness,
Messages from heaven.
Source and Shelter,
Why can I bless others
With the fullness of my being
With joy and thanksgiving,
From a hope for healing
And a pulse of love,
To fill the world with benedictions?
Rock and Redeemer,
Grant me the ability to see and to hear
The blessings around me,
A fountain of love
To fill my soul
With gratitude and courage,
With joy and peace.

Psalm 92 - For Shabbat
Mizmor shir l'yom haShabat: Tov l'hodot laADONAI, ulzameir l'shimcha elyon. L'hagid baboker chasdecha, veemunat'cha baleilot. Alei asor vaalei navel, alei higayon b'chinor. Ki simachtani ADONAI b'fawalecha, b'maasei yadecha aranein. |
A psalm, a song for the Sabbath day, It is good to thank ADONAI and to sing praise to Your Name, O Exalted One; to relate Your kindness in the dawn and Your faith in the nights. Upon ten-stringed instrument and lyre, with singing accompanied by a harp. For You have gladdened me, ADONAI, with Your deeds; at the works of Your Hands I sing glad song.
How great are Your deeds, ADONAI; exceedingly profound are Your thoughts.
A boor cannot know, nor can a fool understand this: when the wicked bloom like grass and all the doers of iniquity blossom - it is to destroy them till eternity. But You remain exalted forever, ADONAI. For behold! - Your enemies, ADONAI, for behold! - Your enemies shall perish, dispersed shall be all doers of iniquity. As exalted as a re'eim's shall be my pride, I will be saturated with ever-fresh oil. My eyes have seen my vigilant foes; when those who would harm me rise up against me, my ears have heard their doom.
Chazzan:

A righteous man will flourish like a date palm, like a cedar in the Lebanon he will grow tall. Planted in the house of ADONAI, in the courtyards of our God they will flourish. They will still be fruitful in old age, vigorous and fresh they will be - to declare that ADONAI is just, my Rock in Whom there is no wrong.

God - the Master over all works; the Blessed One - and He is blessed by the mouth of every soul; His greatness and goodness fill the world, wisdom and insight surround Him. He Who exalts Himself over the holy Chayot and is splendrous in glory above the Chariot; Merit and fairness are before His throne, kindness and mercy are before His glory. Good are the luminaries that our God has created, He has fashioned them with wisdom, with insight and discernment; Strength and power has He granted them, to be dominant within the world. Filled with luster and radiating brightness, their luster is beautiful throughout the world; Glad as they go forth and exultant as they return, they do with awe their Creator's will. Splendor and glory they bestow upon His Name, jubilation and glad song upon the mention of His reign. He called out to the sun and it glowed with light, He saw and fashioned the form of the moon. All the host above bestows praise on Him, splendor and greatness - the Seraphim, Ophanim, and holy Chayot –

God's glory fills the world. God's ministering angels ask one another. Where is the place of God's glory?
To the God Who rested from all works, Who ascended on the Seventh Day and sat on the Throne of His Glory. With splendor He enwrapped the Day of Contentment – He declared the Sabbath day a delight! This is the praise of the Sabbath Day: that on it God rested from all His work. And the Seventh Day gives praise saying: ‘A psalm, a song for the Sabbath Day. It is good to thank ADONAI…‘ Therefore let all that He has fashioned glorify and bless God. Praise, honor, and greatness let them render to God, the King Who fashioned everything, Who gives a heritage of contentment to His People, Israel, in His holiness on the holy Sabbath Day. May Your Name, ADONAI our God, be sanctified and may Your remembrance, Our King, be glorified in the heaven above and upon the earth below. May You be blessed, our Savior, beyond the praises of Your handiwork and beyond the brilliant luminaries that You have made – may they glorify You – Selah.

They are all beloved; they are all flawless; they are all mighty, they all do the will of their Maker with dread and reverence.

Then they all accept upon themselves the yoke of heavenly sovereignty from one another, and grant permission to one another to sanctify the One Who formed them, with tranquillity, with clear articulation, and with sweetness. All of them as one proclaim His holiness and say with awe:

To the blessed God they shall offer sweet melodies; to the King, the living and enduring God, they shall sing hymns and proclaim praises. For He alone affects mighty deeds, makes new things, Is Master of wars, sows kindnesses, makes salvations flourish, creates cures, is too awesome for praise, is Lord of wonders. In His goodness He renews daily, perpetually, the work of creation. As it is said: [Give thanks] to Him Who makes the great luminaries, for His kindness endures forever.

Our Father, the merciful Father, Who acts mercifully, have mercy upon us, instill in our hearts to understand and elucidate, to listen, learn, teach, safeguard, perform, and fulfill all the words of Your Torah's teaching with love. Enlighten our eyes in Your Torah, attach our hearts to Your commandments, and unify our heart, to love and fear Your Name, and may we not feel inner shame for all eternity. Because we have trusted in Your great and awesome holy Name, may we exult and rejoice in Your salvation. You shall love ADONAI, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your resources. Let these matters that I command you today be upon your heart. Teach them thoroughly to your children and speak of them while you sit in your home, while you walk on the way, when you retire and when you arise. Bind them as a sign upon your arm and let them be tefillin between your eyes, and write them on the doorposts of your house and upon your gates.
While reciting the second paragraph (Deuteronomy 11:13-21), concentrate on accepting all the commandments and the concept of reward and punishment.
Deuteronomy 11:13-21
And it will come to pass that if you continually hearken to My commandments that I command you today, to love, ADONAI your God, and to serve Him, with all your heart and with all your Soul - then I will provide rain for your land in its proper time, the early and late rains, that you may gather in your grain, your wine, and your oil. I will provide grass in your field for your cattle and you will eat and be satisfied. Beware lest your heart be seduced and you turn astray and serve gods of others and bow to them. Then the wrath of ADONAI will blaze against you. He will restrain the heaven so there will be no rain and the ground will not yield its produce. And you will swiftly be banished from the goodly land which ADONAI gives you. Place these words of Mine upon your heart and upon your soul; bind them for a sign upon your arm and let them be tefillin between your eyes, Teach them to your children, to discuss them, while you sit in your home, while you walk on the way, when you retire and when you arise. And write them on the doorposts of your house and upon your gates. In order to prolong your days and the days of your children upon the ground that ADONAI has sworn to your ancestors to give them, like the days of the heaven on the earth.
The tzitzit are kissed at each mention of the word and at the end of the paragraph, and are passed before the eyes at 'that you may see it'.

And they are to place upon the tzitzit of each corner a thread of techeilet. And it shall constitute tzitzit for you, that you may see it and remember all the commandments of ADONAI and perform them; and not explore after your heart and after your eyes after which you stray. So that you may remember and perform all My commandments; and be holy to your God. I am ADONAI, your God, Who has removed you from the land of Egypt to be a God to you. In the past God spoke to our fathers through the prophets, at many times in various ways; but now in the end of days He has spoken to us by the Messiah, His Son, who He appointed the heir of all things and through whom He made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the flawless manifestation of His reality. [ADONAI] sustains all things by His powerful word. After [Yeshua] made atonement for sins, he sat down in the place of authority beside the Majesty in heaven.

Moses rejoiced in the gift of his portion: that You called him a faithful servant. A crown of splendor You placed on his head when he stood before You on Mount Sinai. He brought down two stone tablets in his hand, on which is inscribed the observance of the Sabbath. So it is written in Your Torah:

And the Children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to make the Sabbath an eternal covenant for their generations. Between Me and the Children of Israel it is a sign forever that in six days ADONAI made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed. You did not give it, ADONAI, our God, to the nations of the lands, nor did You make it the inheritance, our King, of the worshipers of graven idols. And in its contentment the uncircumcised shall not abide - for to Israel, Your people, have You given it in love, to the seed of Jacob, whom You have chosen. The people that sanctifies the Seventh - they will all be satisfied and delighted from Your goodness. And the Seventh - You found favor in it and sanctified it! ‘Most coveted of days,’ You called it, a remembrance of the act of creation. Our God and the God of our fathers, may You be pleased with our rest. Sanctify us with Your commandments and grant our share in Your Torah; satisfy us from Your goodness and gladden us with Your salvation, and purify our heart to serve You sincerely. O ADONAI, our God, with love and favor grant us Your holy Sabbath as a heritage, and may Israel, the sanctifiers of Your Name, rest on it. Blessed are You, ADONAI, Who sanctifies the Sabbath.

Give us today our daily bread and pardon us our debts, just as we have pardoned those indebted to us. Lead us, (oh lead us) not into temptation, but deliver us, (oh deliver us) from the wicked one. For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the splendor forever and ever, Amen.
Elohai N'tzor (Meditation after the Amidah)
My God, guard my tongue from evil and my lips from speaking deceitfully. To those who curse me, let my soul be Silent; and let my soul be like dust to everyone. Open my heart to Your Torah, then my soul will pursue Your commandments. As for all those who design evil against me, speedily nullify their counsel and disrupt their design. Act for Your Name's sake; act for Your right hand's sake; act for Your sanctity's sake; act for Your Torah's sake. That Your beloved ones may be given rest; let Your right hand save, and respond to me.
May the expressions of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart find favor before You, ADONAI, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Bow and take three steps back. Bow left and say, 'He Who makes peace ...’ bow right and say, 'may He make peace ...’ bow forward and say, 'and upon ... Amen.'

He Who makes peace in His heights, may He make peace upon us, and upon all Israel. Now respond: Amen.
May it be Your will, ADONAI our God and the God of our ancestors, that the Holy Temple be rebuilt, speedily in our days. Grant us our share in Your Torah, and may we serve You there with reverence, as in days of old and in former years. Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasing to ADONAI, as in days of old and in former years.

Torah Service
Stand. From the moment the Ark is opened until the Torah is returned to it, one must conduct themselves with the utmost respect, and avoid unnecessary conversation. It is commendable to kiss the Torah with another object (tzitzit, siddur, etc.) as it is carried to the bimah [reading table] and back to the Ark. One should turn as the Torah makes its circuit around the congregation to face the Torah always.

There is none like You among the gods, my Lord, and there is nothing like Your works. Your kingdom is a kingdom spanning all eternities, and Your dominion is throughout every generation. ADONAI reigns, ADONAI has reigned, ADONAI shall reign for all eternity, ADONAI will give might to His people; ADONAI will bless His people with peace.
Ki v'cha l'vad batachnu, melech Eil ram v'nisa, adon olamim. |
Father of compassion, do good with Zion according toYour Will; rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. For we trust in You alone, O King, God, exalted and uplifted, Master of worlds.
The Ark is opened; before the Torah is removed the congregation recites:

When the Ark would travel, Moses would say, 'Arise, ADONAI, and let Your foes be scattered, let those who hate You flee from You.' For from Zion the Torah will come forth and the word of ADONAI from Jerusalem. Blessed is He Who gave the Torah to His people Israel in His holiness.
13 Attributes
On Festivals, the following prayer is added. The Thirteen Attributes of Mercy are recited three times.
ADONAI, ADONAI, Eil, rachum, v’chanun, erech apayim, v’rav chesed, ve’emet, notzer chesed la’alafim, nosei a’own, vafesha v’chata’ah, v’nakeh. |
ADONAI, ADONAI, God, Compassionate and Gracious, Slow to anger, and Abundant In Kindness and Truth. Preserver of kindness for thousands of generations, Forgiver of Iniquity, willful sin, and error, and Who cleanses.
On Festival days of Pesach, Shavuot and Succot continue:
Master of the universe, fulfill my heartfelt requests for good, my desire and grant my request, me - Your servant and everyone in my household to do Your will wholeheartedly. Rescue us from the Evil Inclination and grant our share in Your Torah. Privilege us that You may rest Your Presence upon us and radiate upon us a spirit of wisdom and insight. Let there be fulfilled in us the verse that is written: The spirit of ADONAI shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and insight, the spirit of counsel and strength, the spirit of knowledge and fear of ADONAI. Similarly may it be Your will, ADONAI, our God and the God of our ancestors, that You privilege us to do deeds that are good in Your eyes and to walk before You in upright paths. Sanctify us with Your commandments so that we may be worthy of a good and long life, to the days of the Messiah and to the life of the World to Come. May You protect us against evil deeds and from bad times that surge upon the world. Those who trust in ADONAI - may kindness surround them, Amen.
From Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur; and on Hoshana Rabbah continue:
Master of the universe, fulfill my requests for good, satisfy my desire and grant my request, pardon all my iniquities and all the iniquities of my household - a pardon of kindness, a pardon of compassion - and purify me of my errors, my iniquities, and my willful sins. Remember me with a favorable memory before You and consider me for salvation and compassion, Remember me for long life, for good life and for peace, good livelihood and sustenance, bread to eat, clothes to wear, wealth, honor, a long life engaged in Your Torah and Your commandments; and intelligence and insight to understand and discern the depths of Your mysteries. Grant a complete recovery to all our sufferings and bless all our handiwork. Decree upon us good decrees, salvations and consolations. Nullify all harsh and evil decrees against us and dispose the feelings of the government, its counselors and ministers upon us for good. Amen, and so be Your will. May the expressions of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart find favor before You, ADONAI, my Rock and my Redeemer.
(Recite the following verse three times)
Va’ani t’filati l’cha ADONAI et ratzon, Elohim B’rav chas’decha, anani be’emet yish’acha. |
As for me, may my prayer to You, ADONAI, be at an opportune time; O God, In Your abundant kindness, answer me with the truth of Your salvation.
B'rich Sh'meh
Blessed is the Name of the Master of the universe, blessed is Your crown and Your place. May Your favor remain with Your people Israel forever; may You display the salvation of Your right hand to Your people in Your Holy Temple, to benefit us with the goodness of Your luminescence and to accept our prayers with mercy. May it be Your will that You extend our lives with goodness and that I be numbered among the righteous; that You have mercy on me and protect me, all that is mine and that is Your people Israel’s. It is You Who nourishes all and sustains all; You control everything. It is You Who control kings, and kingship is Yours. I am a servant of the Holy One Blessed is He, and I prostrate myself before Him and before the glory of His Torah at all times. Not in any man do I put trust, nor on any angel do I rely - only on the God of heaven Who is the God of truth, Whose Torah is truth and Whose prophets are true and Who acts liberally with kindness and truth. In Him do I trust, and to His glorious and holy Name do I declare praises. *May it be Your will that You open my heart to the Torah and that You fulfill the wishes of my heart and the heart of Your entire people Israel for good, for life, and for peace. (Amen.)

Gabbai holds the Torah and recites 'Shema' followed by the congregation repeating 'Shema'
Sh'ma Yisraeil, ADONAI Eloheinu, ADONAI Echad. |
Hear, O Israel: ADONAI is our God, ADONAI, the One and Only.
Still facing the congregation, the gabbai raises the Torah and, followed by congregation, recites:
Echad Eloheinu, Gadol Adoneinu, Kadosh Sh'mo. |
One is our God, great is our Master, Holy is His Name.
The chazzan turns to Ark, bows and raises the Torah, and recites:
Declare the greatness of ADONAI with me, and let us exalt His Name together.
The chazzan turns to the right and carries the Torah in a circuit around to the bimah, as the congregation responds:

Yours, ADONAI, is the greatness, the strength, the splendor, the triumph, and the glory; even everything in heaven and earth; Yours, ADONAI, is the kingdom, and the sovereignty over every leader.
Al sh’loshah d’varim haolam omed, al haTorah v’al haAvodah v’al G’milut Chasadim. |
The world depends on three things – on Torah study, on the service [of God], and on kind deeds. (Pirke Avot 1:2)
Av harachamim, hu y'racheim am amusim, v'yizkor b'rit eitanim, v'yatsil nafshoteinu min hashaot haraot, v'yigar b'yeitser hara min han'suim, v'yachon otanu lifleitat olamim, vimalei mishaloteinu b'mida tova, y'shua v'rachamim. |
May the Father of compassion have mercy on the nation that is borne by Him, and may He remember the covenant of the spiritually mighty. May He rescue our souls from the bad times, and upbraid the Evil Inclination to leave those borne by Him, graciously make us an eternal remnant, and fulfill our requests in good measure, for salvation and mercy.
The Torah is undressed and placed on the Reader's Desk. All may then sit.
Calling Kohen
The gabbai uses the following formula to call a Kohen to the Torah:
May He help, shield, and save all who take refuge in Him - Now let us respond: Amen. All of you ascribe greatness to our God and give honor to the Torah. Kohen, approach. Arise (name) son of (father's name) the Kohen.
Blessed is He

Eitz Chayim
It is a tree of life for those who grasp it, and its supporters are praiseworthy. Its ways are ways of pleasantness and all its paths are peace. Lengthy days are at its right; at its left are wealth and honor. ADONAI desired, for the sake of its [Israel's] righteousness, that the Torah be made great and glorious.

Blessing of the Month
On the Sabbath preceding Rosh Chodesh, a special blessing for the new month is recited while the Torah Scroll is held.
May it be Your will, ADONAI, our God and the God of our ancestors, that You inaugurate this month upon us for goodness and for blessing. May You give us long life - a life Of peace, a life of goodness, a life of blessing, a life of sustenance, a life of physical health, a life in which there is fear of heaven and fear of sin, a life in which there is no shame nor humiliation, a life of wealth and honor, a life in which we will have love of Torah and fear of heaven, a life in which our heartfelt requests will be fulfilled for the good. Amen, Selah.
He Who performed miracles for our ancestors and redeemed them from slavery to freedom - may He redeem us soon and gather in our dispersed from the four corners of the earth; all Israel becoming comrades. Now let us respond: Amen.
Chazzan - The new month of _______ will be on the ___ day which is coming to us and all Israel for goodness. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, renew it upon us and up on all His people, the Family of Israel, for life and for peace, for joy and for gladness, for salvation and for consolation, Now let us respond: Amen.
Parting with the Torah
The Chazzan takes the Torah in his right arm and recites:
Y'hal'lu et sheim ADONAI, ki nisgav sh'mo l'vado. |
Let them praise the Name of ADONAI, for His Name alone will have been exalted.
Congregation responds:
Hodo al eretz v'shamayim vayarem keren l'amo t'hilah l'kol chasidav liv'nei Yisraeil am k'rovo Hal'luYah. |
His glory is above earth and heaven. And He will have exalted the pride of His people, causing praise for all His devout ones, for the Children of Israel, His intimate people. Halleluyah!
The Torah makes its final circuit around the congregation.
Rom'mu
Rom'mu, ADONAI Eloheinu, v'hishtachavu lahadom raglav, kadosh hu. Rom'mu, ADONAI Eloheinu, v'hishtachavu l'har kadsho ki kadosh. ADONAI Eloheinu. |
Exalt ADONAI, our God, and bow at His footstool; He is Holy! Exalt ADONAI, our God, land bow to His Holy Mountain; for holy is ADONAI our God.
Eits chayim hi lamachazikim ba v'tom'cheyha m'ushar. D'racheyha, darchei noam v'kol n'tivotecha shalom. Hashiveinu ADONAI eilecha, v'nashuva chadeish yameinu k'kedem. |
Bring us back to You, ADONAI, and we shall return, renew our days as of old.
The Torah is returned to the Ark
And when it rested he would say, Return ADONAI to the myriad thousands of Israel. Arise, ADONAI, to Your resting place, You and the Ark of Your strength. Let Your priests be clothed in righteousness, and Your devout ones will sing joyously. For the sake of David, Your servant, turn not away the face of Your anointed. For I have given you a good teaching, do not forsake My Torah.
The Ark is closed.
Baruch atah ADONAI, Eloheinu, melekh ha’olam, ashayr natan lanoo ha’davar ha’chai BaMashiach Yeshuah. |
Blessed are you, ADONAI our God, Ruler of the universe who gives us the living word in the Messiah Yeshua. (Amen).
Concluding Prayers
Prayer for World Peace
“How abundant are Your works, Hashem; with wisdom You have made them all; the earth is full of Your possessions.” (Psalms 104:24)
Our Father in Heaven, Master of the Universe,
Have mercy on all who suffer from terrorism and wars, in Israel and the world over.
Protect all of Your creatures against violence; weaken the hands of villains, and lead them to the path of goodness and complete repentance.
Prevent natural disasters: Earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis, raging fires and tornadoes.
Have compassion on all the displaced, homeless, and starving people in Your world.
Have mercy on your creations. Comfort the mourners, and heal the injured.
Open our hearts to all human beings in all four corners of the earth.
Eradicate evil from among all the inhabitants of Your world,
As is written: “You allowed people to subjugate us; we went through fire and water and You brought us out to a place of abundance.” (Psalms 66:12)
And let us say Amen.

For the State of Israel (Sim Shalom)
Avinu She-bashamayim, Rock and Redeemer of the people Israel: Bless the State of Israel, with its promise of redemption. Shield it with Your love; spread over it the shelter of Your peace. Guide its leaders and advisors with Your light and Your truth. Help them with Your good counsel. Strengthen the hands of those who defend our Holy Land. Deliver them; crown their efforts with triumph. Bless the Land with peace, and its inhabitants with lasting joy. And let us say: Amen.
For the State of Israel (Va'ani T'fillati)
May God who blessed our ancestors Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, and Leah, bless the State of Israel and may God's glorious sovereignty be made manifest upon the land God swore unto our ancestors to grant to us.
May Your grace, O God, be bestowed upon the leaders of Israel so that they may merit building it firmly upon the foundation of justice and righteousness now and forever.
Plant in their hearts and in ours the love of all our fellow Jews, the whole house of Israel, wherever they may be, so that we may become one fellowship, united in fulfilling Your will with a perfect heart.
Adonai Tz'va-ot, God of Israel, guard the soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces and save them from all sorrow and distress, from all injury and harm.
Send Your blessing of deliverance upon all their deeds.
May they go forth in peace and return in life and peace to their homes and their dear ones.
Grant peace to the land and everlasting joy to all its inhabitants so that Jacob may dwell in peace and quietude and none will make him afraid.
Fulfill speedily in our days the verse: For every man shall sit under his vine or fig tree and none shall make him afraid, for Adonai Tz'vaot has spoken. (Micah 4:4)
Spread Your tabernacle of peace over all the inhabitants of the world - May this be Your will, and let us say: Amen.

It is our duty to praise the Master of all, to ascribe greatness to the Molder of primeval creation, for He has not made us like the nations of the lands and has not emplaced us like the families of the earth; for He has not assigned our portion like theirs nor our lot like all their multitudes. But we bend our knees, bow, and acknowledge our thanks before the King Who reigns over kings, the Holy One, Blessed is He. He stretches out heaven and establishes earth's foundation, the seat of His homage is in the heavens above and His powerful Presence is in the loftiest heights. He is our God and there is none other. True is our King, there is nothing beside Him, as it is written in His Torah: ‘You are to know this day and take to your heart that ADONAI is the only God - in heaven above and on the earth below - there is none other.’

Therefore we put our hope in You, ADONAI our God, that we may soon see Your mighty splendor, to remove detestable idolatry from the earth, and false gods will be utterly cut off, to perfect the universe through the Almighty's sovereignty. Then all humanity will call upon Your Name, to turn all the earth's wicked toward You. All the world's inhabitants will recognize and know that to You every knee should bend, every tongue should swear. Before You, ADONAI, our God, they will bend every knee and cast themselves down and to the glory of Your Name they will render homage, and they will all accept upon themselves the yoke of Your kingship that You may reign over them soon and eternally. For the kingdom is Yours and You will reign for all eternity in glory as it is written in Your Torah: ADONAI shall reign for all eternity.
